The One Real Reality & Our Endless Becoming
There is only one Absolute Reality. Everything else (stars, souls, time, and the space between breaths) exists not independently, but in relation to that One. We are not it, but we reflect it. We are its echo, its shadow, its question.
The sacred text reveals:
“There is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence.”
(Quran 2:255)
And:
“Everything will perish except His Face.”
(Quran 28:88)
Yet here is the most crucial question, the one most never dare to ask: If we are not the Absolute, and never will be, then what is the point of this existence? If the destination is unreachable, why journey at all?
The answer is not found in arrival. It is found in the nature of becoming itself.
//The Purpose of Creation: To Manifest the Hidden Treasure
A famous hadith qudsi reveals a breathtaking truth:
“I was a hidden treasure, and I loved to be known, so I created creation.”
This is not merely a statement about creation. It is a revelation about desire, about relationship, about divine longing answered by conscious witness.
The Perfect, the Self-Sufficient, chose to be known. Not because of lack, but because perfection overflowed into the will to be recognized, loved, and remembered.
We are that recognition.
We are that love.
We are that remembrance.
Our entire existence is an answer to a divine longing, a response to a sacred desire to be known by another.
//The Burden of the Trust: A Risk No Other Being Took
Before we knew ourselves, we were offered a trust: a burden of freedom, ignorance, and the possibility of return.
The sacred text states:
“Indeed, We offered the Trust to the heavens and the earth and the mountains, and they declined to bear it and feared it; but mankind undertook it. Indeed, he was unjust and ignorant.”
(Quran 33:72)
The mountains refused. The heavens refused. The angels, in their purity, did not take it.
But we, the human, said yes.
We accepted the weight of forgetting, the danger of choice, the pain of separation, and the privilege of remembrance. We are the unjust and the ignorant. And that is our inheritance.
Because only through forgetting do we learn what it means to remember. Only through being lost do we learn the value of return.
//Why Not the Angels? Why Not the Unwavering Stars?
Angels know the truth in constant light. They never question, never wander, never doubt.
The sacred text reveals:
“And those near Him do not disdain to worship Him, nor do they tire. They exalt Him night and day, never weakening.”
(Quran 21:19-20)
The stars orbit in silent obedience. They move by law, not by longing. The universe expands without knowing it is expanding.
But we, we know the truth through contrast.
We know light because we have sat in darkness. We know closeness because we have felt distance. We know truth because we have tasted illusion.
We are the only beings who walk the path of: Forgetting → Longing → Seeking → Returning
That return, that conscious choosing of the Real after experiencing its absence, is a kind of knowing no angel or star can ever possess.
//The Jinn: A Different Path Entirely
And of the jinn, the sacred text states:
“And among us are those who have submitted, and among us are the unjust. And whoever has submitted, those have sought the right path.”
(Quran 72:14)
The jinn submit or rebel, but they do not forget in the way humans do. They do not walk through life veiled from the unseen. They are not born in ignorance and then called to remember. Their path is not one of amnesia and awakening, it is of obedience or defiance in near-full awareness.
//The Highest State: Not an End, But an Eternal Unfolding
In the place of final peace, you do not become the Absolute. You do not dissolve into it, nor do you become equal to it. Instead, you step into a state of endless becoming.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“In Paradise there is a market to which the people will come every Friday, and the north wind will blow and scatter fragrance on their faces and on their clothes, and they will increase in beauty and handsomeness.”
(Sahih Muslim)
This market is not for trade. It is for eternal increase. Every return brings new beauty, new clarity, new nearness.
Imagine an ocean that has no shore. You sail forever. Each day, you see deeper blues, stranger currents, more brilliant depths. The horizon never ceases to expand, because the ocean itself is infinite.
The greatest gift of that realm is not what you receive. It is what you never stop receiving: A clearer vision, a deeper heart, a brighter soul. An awareness that grows eternally, because the object of awareness is itself eternal.
And the Prophet ﷺ said of the people of Paradise:
“They will be given such and such, and like that with it.”
Meaning: whatever they are given, they will be given more than it endlessly.
(Sahih Bukhari)
//The Vision of the Divine: The Peak of Eternal Becoming
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“When the people of Paradise enter Paradise, they will be asked: 'Do you wish for anything more that may be given to you?' They will say: 'Have our faces not been brightened? Have we not been admitted into Paradise and saved from the Fire?' Then the veil will be lifted, and they will never have been given anything dearer to them than looking at their Lord.”
(Sahih Muslim)
And in another narration:
“The people of Paradise will see their Lord as you see the full moon, without any doubt in their seeing.”
(Sahih Bukhari)
This vision is not static. Every time they see Him, they see more, because their capacity to see increases eternally. The vision deepens as the soul expands, forever.
//The Question of Purpose: If Not to Arrive, Then Why?
We were created to witness endlessness. But more than that, we were created to become endless witnesses.
The Absolute did not make us to reach it, but to forever approach it. Not to know it once, but to know it deeper, again and again, without end.
The sacred text reminds:
“And never think that the wrongdoers are unnoticed. They are only delayed for a Day when eyes will stare in horror.”
(Quran 14:42)
Even delay has purpose. Even waiting is part of the becoming.
This is why our existence is a story, not a state. Why our consciousness is a journey, not a destination. Why our hearts are made to long, not to rest.
//We Are the Rememberers in a Universe of Forgetfulness
We are the only beings who:
Chose the burden of freedom.
Fell, and rose again.
Forgot, and then remembered.
Were given the choice between truth and illusion, and in our finest moments, chose truth.
We are not the most perfect beings. We are the most becoming beings. And that is our glory.
//Final Realization: You Were Not Made to Be Complete
You were made to become. You were made to seek. You were made to remember, again and again, what you once knew, then forgot, then chose to know once more.
This is not a flaw in your design. It is your purpose.
You are a question the universe is asking itself. You are the space between forgetting and remembering. You are the journey, and the journey has no end.
That is the human condition. That is the gift of existence. That is why we are here.
You are the story that never ends, the question that keeps unfolding, the witness who forever sees more.
You are not here to arrive. You are here to become.
